Position Overview:  The primary function of the Senior Associate Registrar will be to assist the Registrar in the overall operation of the office including activities directly related to the management of student records and registration, state, federal and ad-hoc reporting, as well as duties related to staff supervision.

Responsibilities:  The Senior Associate Registrar is responsible for several core registrar functions as well as a variety of academic processes and responsibilities including registration, overseeing midterm and final grading processes, managing course/classroom scheduling, conducting degree clearance, publishing the academic catalog, and registrar-related commencement activities.  The candidate will also concentrate on adjusting and realigning office processes to improve the integrity of the data in the student information system.  This is an office that is moving forward.  As such, in addition to meeting the required qualifications, the ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of technology and a demonstrated capacity for streamlining processes to improve office efficiency and enhance registrar-related services to students, faculty, and staff. 

Requirements:  Demonstrated knowledge of AACRAO/industry best practices, concepts, and procedures related to the operation of a collegiate registrar office, including but not limited to student records and registration, scheduling, degree clearance, grade processing, and registrar-related commencement activities acquired.   Other qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred,
  • Three - five years’ experience as an Assistant or Associate Registrar in a college or university registrar’s office,,
  • Working knowledge of FERPA, current records, registration, and enrollment policies and processes,
  • Knowledge of curriculum requirements as they relate to registration and graduation, and experience in the degree clearance process,
  • Knowledge of policies and reporting procedures of the National Student Clearinghouse,
  • Experience working with a computerized student information system, and privacy and confidentiality rules as they relate to student information,
  • Knowledge of/experience in managing the degree audit function,
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred,
  • Ability to interact with campus constituents in a professional and diplomatic manner whilst ensuring the integrity of academic policies,
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills,
  • Attention to detail, produces quality work,
  • Experience with Jenzabar, catalog management software, and query tools is desirable, but not a requirement.
