Associate Provost for Student Success and Advising
Indiana State University seeks applications and nominations for an exceptional individual to serve as Associate Provost for Advising and Student Success. The University seeks a visionary leader to help the institution continue to improve retention and graduation rates. The AP will oversee and lead the University Student Success and Advising Center (USSAC).
The Associate Provost for Advising and Student Success will report directly to the Provost, serve as a member of the Provost’s Advisory Committee, work closely with the Vice Provost for Academics and academic Deans, and maintain strong partnerships with associate deans, department chairpersons, faculty, and other administrative leaders. The AP will provide vision and strategic direction for undergraduate advising and other student success initiatives.
The AP for Advising and Student Success is responsible for leading a team of approximately 25 full-time professional advisors and other staff in maintaining a comprehensive strategic plan for Advising and Student Success initiatives. The AP will coordinate with academic units to maintain consistent, high quality advising for all students throughout their time at Indiana State University.
The Associate Provost for Advising and Student Success will be expected to:
- Coordinate and lead the work of multiple offices in support of institutional retention and graduation goals.
- Build on and improve successful and high impact advising practices.
- Develop new student success initiatives in collaboration with other leaders in Academic Affairs and Student Affairs.
- Monitor and ensure that institutional practices help achieve institutional student success goals.
- Help coordinate and lead the ongoing evolution of comprehensive, integrated advising and student success initiatives and programs that contribute to meeting the University’s enrollment goals.
Required Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must have a minimum of a master’s degree and progressive responsibility and success in higher education leadership roles related to advising or student success.
