Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management, the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management is responsible for providing comprehensive leadership provides visionary leadership and operational oversight of a portfolio of student success-focused units. These include Summer Success/Cougar Prep, First-Year and Transitional Advising, Learning Support Services, and Academic Testing.
The AVC plays a critical role in shaping and executing strategic initiatives aimed at improving student retention, progression, and degree completion. Additionally, the AVC serves as a key collaborator across campus, fostering partnerships that align with SIUE’s goals for student enrollment and achievement.
This role requires a collaborative and strategic leader who can:
- Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management for units dedicated to student transition and success.
- Oversee the implementation of evidence-based programs and services to improve student retention, persistence, and graduation rates.
- Collaborate closely with University stakeholders—including academic affairs, student affairs, and faculty leadership—to design and assess integrated support strategies.
- Assist the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management in divisional strategic planning, assessment, and execution of enrollment initiatives.
- Serve as a secondary leader in the division, representing the VCEM in meetings and initiatives as needed.
- Utilize data and analytics to inform decision-making, identify trends, and implement improvements in student support services.
- Lead the development and assessment of student success metrics and key performance indicators.
- Ensure alignment of departmental goals with institutional priorities, accreditation requirements, and national best practices.
