Position Summary:

The Registrar serves as the official custodian of student academic records and plays a critical leadership role in academic policy implementation, enrollment management, and institutional compliance. This position ensures the integrity, accuracy, and security of all academic records in accordance with FERPA, SACSCOC accreditation standards, and institutional policies. The Registrar supports student success by overseeing registration, degree audits, graduation certification, and transcript services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the student information system (Jenzabar) and academic records.
  • Assemble and post the academic schedule for each term.
  • Oversee course registration, scheduling, grading processes, and academic calendar coordination.
  • Certify degree completion and manage graduation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with FERPA, SACSCOC standards, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with academic departments to implement curriculum changes and catalog updates.
  • Provide data and reports for institutional research, accreditation, and strategic planning.
  • Supervise and train Registrar’s Office staff, ensuring high-quality service to students and faculty.
  • Coordinate transcript evaluations, transfer credit articulation, and enrollment verifications.
  • Serve on academic and administrative committees as assigned.
  • Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency and student service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required- Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Services, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience in a Registrar’s Office or related academic services role.
  • Knowledge of FERPA, SACSCOC accreditation standards, and higher education policies.
  • Experience with student information systems (e.g., Ellucian Colleague, Banner, Jenzabar).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a small college or liberal arts environment.
  • Familiarity with academic policy development and catalog management.
  • Proficiency in data reporting tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
