The University Registrar serves as the senior leader responsible for the integrity, security, and strategic oversight of all academic records, registration, enrollment operations, and student data systems at the University of Louisville. As the institution’s official custodian of student records and primary FERPA authority, the Registrar sets and enforces policies that ensure compliance, support student success, and guide institutional planning.
The position directs the Records and Registration Department, including supervision of 16 staff members and management of the office budget. Key responsibilities include developing the academic calendar; managing class scheduling and registration; posting grades, academic actions, and degrees; producing transcripts and diplomas; and publishing the annual Undergraduate Catalog.
The Registrar provides long term strategic direction for academic records and enrollment services, ensuring that systems, processes, and technologies evolve in alignment with institutional priorities. Additional responsibilities include leading planning for biannual Commencement ceremonies, certifying student athlete eligibility for NCAA competition, and reviewing exceptions to refund and residency policies. The Registrar collaborates closely with academic units, IT leadership, Enrollment Management, and external agencies to support major initiatives and represents the University on committees and special projects.
