POSITION SUMMARY

Interns will participate in a number of activities, such as attending and reporting on Congressional hearings and federal agency briefings, carrying out research projects, interacting with other members of the higher education community, and other projects and efforts as necessary.

Some of the specific tasks will include:

• Identify and track policy developments, federal legislative and regulatory developments of interest to the AACRAO constituency
• Draft messaging for official statements, community letters, and updates as needed
• Monitor federal issues, policy topics and professional/industry issues that affect higher education institutions and communicate this information to AACRAO members
• Become an integral member of the Government Relations team in support of the AACRAO Congressional Hill Day that is held annually during the summer

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Undergraduate/Graduate student in education/public policy/journalism/communications or related field.

• Salary range: $20-$23/hour
