Augustana University invites applications for the position of Assistant Registrar. This full-time administrative role supports the daily operations of the Registrar’s Office and plays a vital part in student registration, records management, degree audits, transcript processing, and compliance, including NCAA requirements. This position ensures the accurate maintenance of academic records and supports students, faculty, and staff through collaborative and student-centered service.
The duties, competencies, and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
- Support daily activities of the Registrar’s Office, maintaining a caring and professional atmosphere.
- Assist in registering students and processing registration changes, including New Student Registration events.
- Perform degree audits and pre-matriculation evaluations.
- Maintain and evaluate academic records (transcripts, catalog data, graduation audits).
- Ensure compliance with FERPA and NCAA regulations.
- Certify students for graduation, process honors, and finalize the commencement program.
- Coordinate academic advising system updates and advisor assignments.
- Assist in maintaining an effective, secure, and responsive academic records system.
- Maintain Smart Catalog and manage updates to the Registrar website.
- Assist with processing and communication of midterm/final grades, probation notices, Dean’s List, and other student notifications.
- Represent the Registrar’s Office at committee meetings and university functions.
- Provide individual student assistance through walk-ins and appointments.
- Support VA degree audits and collaborate with certifying officials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Prior experience in a college or university setting strongly desired.
Interacting with students, faculty and leadership from diverse backgrounds and perspectives, along with a deep appreciation and respect for academic principles and culture, must be a top value of the candidate.
