POSITION SUMMARY
The Data Visualization Intern is a member of the Impact & Engagement team and plays a crucial role in the collection, entry, review, documentation, inspection, cleaning, and transformation of data into valuable insights This is a part-time position at an estimated 20-28 hours/week.
Salary Range: $20 – $23/hour, up to 28 hours/week
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collect, enter, and review data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Document and inspect datasets, identifying potential issues and areas for improvement.
- Clean and transform data into usable formats for analysis and reporting.
- Provide technical support for database management systems.
- Contribute to the design and optimization of database structures.
- Conduct data mining and fusion activities to extract valuable insights.
- Research and recommend improvements to existing visualizations for improved education, engagement, and outreach.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity equipment (such as a printer)
- Hybrid. Two days/week in the DC office.

- Proficiency with Tableau and data visualization tools.

- Effective communication skills and ability to present findings to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid team environment.
- Ability to see a project through from beginning to completion
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Pursuing a BA/BBA/BS or MA/MS degree in data science, computer science, information systems, statistics, economics, public policy, communications, or related fields
OR - 2 – 3 years of equivalent work experience
