POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing & Communication Intern is a member of the Marketing & Communication team, providing support across the department, with an emphasis on writing copy, managing web edits, and providing administrative support. You’ll collaborate with a small but talented team as you help tell AACRAO’s story through the website, e-blasts, social media, press releases, promotional videos, events, and support of all related systems. This is a part-time position at an estimated 20-28 hours/week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and approve web edits
- Draft marketing copy
- Optimize webpage layouts and content
- Provide support as needed for e-blasts, social media, press releases, etc.
- General marketing and communication support
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity equipment (such as a printer)
- Hybrid. One day/week in the DC office and occasional travel in the DC area to cover events.
- Option for occasional domestic travel beyond DC to support AACRAO conferences and events.

The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate is creative, eager to learn, open to feedback, enjoys collaborating with others, and can see a project through from beginning to completion. They have excellent writing and editing skills, website support experience, and general experience with marketing and communication (or a willingness to learn). This is an excellent position for a recent graduate or current undergrad/grad student who is interested in building a MarComm career in the nonprofit or association sector.

Demonstrated experience in marketing and communication (may use volunteer experience)
SEO and data analytics experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Team player, with the ability to collaborate across departments
Ability to see a project through from beginning to completion
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
BA/BBA/BS degree or current undergraduate student (must show proof of enrollment)
1-2 years of related experience (may use school or volunteer experience)

Please Note
Salary range: $20-$23/hour
