Job Description

The Vice President of Strategic Enrollment and Equity oversees the Student Affairs Division, leads the College’s Strategic Enrollment Plan, and serves as the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) officer for the College. In partnership with the Vice President of Academics and Innovation, will work to co-create a student experience that transforms lives through excellence in service, education, and career training. They also provide leadership, management, strategic direction, policy development, and oversight for all areas within Student Affairs. They provide College-wide leadership for the College’s diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging efforts in support of the College’s mission, vision, and strategic framework. This position will play a vital role in Riverland achieving Hispanic Serving Institution status by 2028 and in helping Riverland meet its equity goals by optimizing College processes and systems to promote student recruitment, persistence, and success.

The Vice President of Strategic Enrollment and Equity serves on the President’s Executive Cabinet and provides broad advice and assistance to the President in establishing and meeting the strategic direction of the College. As a member of the President’s senior administrative team, the Vice President represents the College as designated by the President, within Minnesota State, external agencies and bodies, and serves as a college officer/representative on public occasions. The person in this position serves on key College committees, leading Strategic Enrollment Management and DEI teams and initiatives and works to improve campus culture and equity. They are responsible for building a culture conducive to achieving Hispanic Serving Institution status and must have a solid understanding and appreciation of Hispanic cultures and ideally will be fluent in Spanish.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in Counseling, Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, or equivalent.
Relevant, progressive leadership experience in designing, implementing, sustaining, and advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives
Strategic enrollment management experience
Minimum of three years of senior higher education leadership experience which included the management of employees
Understanding of Hispanic culture in relationship to strategic enrollment management
Experience in recruiting and leading diverse personnel, including team building, cultural sensitivity, conflict resolution, and team projects
Preferred Qualification

Doctoral degree.
Experience at a Hispanic Serving Institution.
Working knowledge in managing, developing, allocating and monitoring assigned planning and budgeting processes.
Executive experience working in a unionized College or university environment.
Bilingual/Multilingual fluent in Spanish, Somali, Karen, Anuak, Nuer or other languages that reflect our student body, workforce, and communities, strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience working with a multicultural and underserved populations.
