Associate Director of Admissions Operations

Job Summary:

This position reports to the Director of Admissions Operations and manages the daily processing of domestic and international undergraduate applications, ensuring policy compliance and data quality. Responsibilities include supervising staff, overseeing undergraduate admissions processing, and using independent judgment for decision-making. The Associate Director coordinates international admissions, advises international students, ensures compliance with immigration laws, prepares immigration forms, and handles related tasks. Strong knowledge of admissions, Slate, and Banner is essential. Through leadership and collaboration, this position ensures the office’s work aligns with and advances the university’s mission and goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages application processing
  • Coordinates international processing
  • Provides quality service to prospective and current students and the university community
  • Participates as an engaged member of the Admissions Office leadership team

Required Experience:

  • Two years of experience working in an admissions environment
  • Interpreting and applying laws, rules, and procedures related to admissions applications
  • Analyzing information and researching a variety of sources to identify and resolve issues
  • Establishing and maintaining working relationships with students, faculty, staff, administrators

Required Other:

  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status to serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) per Department of Homeland Security and Department of State regulations.
  • Must be eligible for membership in professional organizations such as AACRAO, PACRAO, TAICEP, and AICE.

Additional Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Some knowledge of international educational systems
  • Experience with SEVIS and immigration regulations for non-immigrant students
  • Work experience in a college or university setting
  • Knowledge of UI policies and procedures, campus facilities, and student support services
  • Experience with the Banner administrative database system
  • Experience with Slate
  • Ability to take initiative, exercise sound judgment, and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of the structure and chain of responsibilities within a university
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to identify, research, and correct errors for multiple or complex programs
  • Ability to work with individuals from varying cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds

Salary Range $26.93 per hour/$56,000 annually or higher depending on education and experience
