The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Registrar. Reporting to the Associate Provost for Undergraduate Programs, the Registrar leads a team of dynamic, student-focused, detail-oriented staff responsible for all aspects of the University’s student academic record-keeping systems and course registration processes. The Registrar directs the enrollment services, archival, and certification functions of the Registrar’s Office. Maintains records, records access and verify students’ academic records to the university community and other authorized requestors within state and federal requirements, university policy, and professional guidelines. Using exceptional leadership and supervisory skills, the Registrar leads the office’s strategic direction while managing the complexities and details of day-to-day operations in the functional areas of course scheduling and registration, academic credit evaluation, graduation audits, official reporting, and compliance with all applicable laws. In support of these responsibilities, the Registrar must identify and deliver technological solutions to enhance business processes and procedures supporting the delivery of the institution’s academic mission.
- Serves as Registrar (the official keeper of student records), maintaining the integrity of student academic records and the data that supports them, and providing access to authorized users; ensures all compliance reporting is completed in a timely manner.
- Serves as the steward for all student academic records and as the institution’s FERPA officer; ensures compliance with related regulations, policies, and professional guidelines.
- Generates, initiates, and implements plans and projects supporting the strategic goals of the institution.
- Represents the Office of the Registrar in curriculum, planning, and development meetings with Academic Affairs and other key offices on campus.
- Serves as signatory officer for student records verifications for a variety of external entities.
- Develop and administers budget supporting a complex staff and operation.
- Monitors compliance with university and University System of Georgia policy regarding changes in students’ status.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree required.
- Five (5) years of higher education experience in a leadership role related to the job duties listed above is required.
