Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management

Xavier University, a Jesuit Catholic university rooted in the liberal arts tradition, seeks an experienced and forward-thinking Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management (VPSEM).

Founded in 1831 and located in Cincinnati, Ohio, Xavier University is annually ranked among the nation’s best universities. Its four colleges offer more than 70 undergraduate majors, over 60 minors, and 30 graduate programs to approximately 6,000 total students, including 4,800 undergraduates. The VPSEM reports to https://www.xavier.edu/president/about-the-president/index, Xavier’s first layperson and woman president, and is the executive responsible for providing strategic planning and leadership to University-wide undergraduate enrollment efforts. The VPSEM will also provide thought leadership and partnership for graduate enrollment strategies, thus thinking of all ways to support and sustain enrollment across the student continuum. It will be important to approach this critical work with a collaborative spirit, working with key stakeholders to carry out an enrollment plan that is grounded in best practices and enhances Xavier’s ability to attract, enroll, and support talented students locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.

From record fundraising to the establishment of the https://www.xavier.edu/200/college-of-medicine to the Musketeer’s men’s basketball team appearing in the Sweet 16 in 2023, the momentum and sense of promise at Xavier is immense. The Vice President will be a leader with exceptional analytic, interpersonal, and communication skills, and the enthusiasm to partner closely with a dedicated President, exceptional senior team, faculty, staff, and students as an ambitious plan for the University’s future is being executed. As Xavier continues to seek innovative and meaningful ways to deepen its mission impact, the new enrollment leader will bring an appreciation of and commitment to the University’s Jesuit Catholic values and how they are manifested in enrollment at Xavier. Candidates will bring deep knowledge of enrollment best practices and issues nationally. Demonstrated success in executing initiatives that advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging and in managing change with an understanding of the contexts and history within the institution will be assets for the role. The VPSEM will be a collaborator and relationship builder, adept at bringing others along when implementing change, and bring a commitment to developing and supporting a team.
